I was going to write an essay for a LiveJournal community called Ship Manifesto, but I found that I just don’t have the time. I will be updating the individual sections a bit at a time. However, the media content will definitely be updated, so please enjoy that as you wait!

Why “Whip of Love”?

In episode 11 of the drama, Kumiko is being followed around for an article about a passionate teacher. When her class was asked what Kumiko meant to them, one of her students replied that she hits them with her fists. While Kumiko was scrambling to explain herself, Shin casually pipes in, “Oh, those so-called ‘whips of love’?”

While this was sarcasm on Shin’s part, one can just imagine that their relationship would consist of a few of their own such “whips of love”, especially considering their attitudes and hobbies.
